PEP Communities MOU

Memorandum of Understanding for Quality Control of UConn PEP Curriculum

Each partnering organization must have an MOU with UConn PEP to provide the curriculum. Please email pep@uconn.edu for information and the MOU form.  

UConn People Empowering People Communities (PEP) Curriculum

  • May be used only with permission of University of Connecticut Department of Extension and after attending training on the use of the curriculum.
  • A new Memorandum of Understanding must be signed between the University of Connecticut Department of Extension and the sponsoring organization at least 4 weeks prior to the start of each class every time the UConn Extension People Empowering People Communities program is
  • UConn PEP consists of 15 sessions. The first ten are workshops. These are followed by 4 additional sessions to plan, implement, and complete a community The last session is for a celebratory graduation ceremony. The program cannot be altered, shortened, or changed in any way without consultation with the University of Connecticut Department of Extension.

Survey and facilitator evaluation forms will be completed and sent to the University of Connecticut Department of Extension at the end of the program. Pre- and End-of-Training surveys must be completed to contribute to the longitudinal evaluation of the program.

Financing

  • Program financing is sole responsibility of the sponsoring agency and must follow the sample budget.
  • The sponsoring agency is responsible for providing supplies, handouts, and equipment needed for sessions.

Facilitators

  • Only trained facilitators in good standing with the UConn Extension PEP Communities program as determined by the UConn PEP Administrator may present the UConn Extension People Empowering People (PEP) Communities.

Media and Outreach

  • The UConn People Empowering People Communities Program is a partnership between the University of Connecticut Department of Extension and sponsoring agencies.
  • This partnership must be referenced in any outreach, public education, social media, public relations and/or fundraising. There is a UConn Extension PEP Community Partner logo specifically for the use local sponsors when developing marketing materials.

  • The UConn People Empowering People Curriculum is the property of the University of Connecticut Department of Extension. Use of the curriculum is by permission only and does not imply transfer of ownership.

Lack of compliance with any of the items above will result in denial of the use of the UConn Extension People Empowering People Communities Curriculum and Program Model for future grant opportunities or any other use of the curriculum.
